Breagh has been dancing Highland Dance & Step Dance for 20 years at the MacArthur School of Dance. In November of 2013, she received her Associate Instructor’s Certification with the ‘Scottish Dance Teacher’s Alliance’ (SDTA) in Scotland, allowing her to be a certified Highland Dance Instructor. She has been an assistant teacher at the school for 9 years.
Breagh also studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern & Contemporary for 7 years. She has been very successful competitively, winning top solos, scholarships and top group awards. She has won several dance school awards of excellence, as well as medals and trophies at Provincial and Canadian level Highland Dance Championships.
Breagh danced with the CapeLand Dancers for 10 years, having performed with many well known Cape Breton musicians, at nearly every Festival and event throughout the Maritimes. In 2013, she was selected by audition to dance in the Basel Military Tattoo in Switzerland, along with 20 other dancers from across Canada, as part of the Canadian Dance Team. In May of 2014, she auditioned and received the part of one of the 6 murderesses for the Musical production of ‘Chicago’, at the Savoy Theatre in Cape Breton. Breagh was also a member of the Cape Breton Dance Collective from 2012-2013, and was a member of the Queensland Highland Dancers while away at University in Halifax. Breagh was selected to dance in the Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax in 2016.
Breagh graduated from University Sainte Anne in 2013, with her Bachelor of Science in French Immersion, and graduated in 2016 with her degree in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in Halifax. She is currently working as a Physiotherapist at the IWK Hospital in Halifax. Breagh will substitute teach when she is home.
